Dr. Sujith Ovallath is one of the best Neurologists and one of the top-rated Parkinson's and DBS specialists in the Country. He started the first-ever DBS Programme in North Kerala. He has more than 20 years of experience as a Neurologist. Dr. Sujith has completed his MBBS from Govt. Medical College, Calicut with Gold Medal in Medicine, followed by MD in General Medicine, DNB in Neurology, and DM in Neurology from the same institute. After that, he completed two years of post-doctoral training in Movement Disorders at the University of British Columbia Canada, where he underwent expert training in Parkinson's and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS).
He has been actively involved in teaching and research and has several National and International Publications. He has published 4 books and written several book chapters. He has been invited to speak for the international Parkinson's and Movement disorder Society meeting in Honkong and all national movement disorder meets, India. He was a bylaw committee member of the International Parkinson's and Movement Disorder Society based in the USA.
He has been a Mentor for the Master's thesis for students of the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and a PhD.examiner for NIMHANS Bangalore. He is currently an editorial board member of Annals of Movement disorders, India, International Neuropsychiatric disorder journal, and Archives of Chronics Disorders in the USA.

Currently working as Senior Consultant, Baby Memorial Hospital Kannur
Passed MBBS in 1993 from Calicut Medical College, with Gold Medal in Medicine. MD in Medicine, DNB Neurology and DM Neurology from Same institute. Dr. Sujith has completed two year clinical fellowship in Movement Disorders from The University of British Columbia, Canada in 2007. He has received fellowship from Movement disorder society India and Neurocritical care Society India.
Established James Parkinson's movement disorder research center, Kannur north Kerala in 2008 and continue to serve as its director. He has served as Professor and Head of Neurology, Kannur Medical College, Kerala.

He is one of the founding members of the Movement disorder Society, India (MDSI) and served as its National Executive member. Previously served as Bylaw committee Member of International Parkinson's and Movement disorder Society and SNCC National Educational Committee member.

Parkinson's and DBS Clinic at Aster Medcity Kochi and Aster MIMS Calicut
He pioneered Parkinson's and DBS clinic at Aster Medcity Kochi (2016), and Aster MIMS Calicut (2017) first of its kind in Private hospitals in Kerala. He Started first ever DBS program in North Kerala and is currently active in DBS programme with BMH group of Institutions. He established FNCC course at BMH Kannur in 2023.

He has 39 international publications, several book chapters, and has authored 4 textbooks—important ones being Handbook of deep brain stimulation (NOVA USA) and Essentials of Movement disorders (NOVA USA, Invited Editorial ship).
